QQ Color Snap-Autumn in Yellow & Plum

Here is some eye candy for your weekend. Once again we have the lovely QQ, featured many times here.

Autumns, THIS is how you do deep, dramatic lip color. This plum is everything for Autumns (burgundy would work as well) and the contrast, with the yellow top and gold jewelry which are classic Autumn,  is perfect.

QQ says: “I wear this specific color shirt and gold shit solely cause you’ve drilled it in.”

Once you order a Color Analysis, I am yours for LIFE (*lawyer voice* voidwhereprohibited), meaning you can continuously submit photos for posting and inquiries about specific colors/advice, etc.

If you would like me to do a color analysis for you (includes blog feature with pictures and customized color shopping list with your own personal power color) that will bring out your own unique glow, contact me at glowingcolor@gmail.com for rates.

QQ Color Snap: Yellow and Black

QQ, featured here previously is showing a perfect example of how Autumns can still wear black, as long as they wear an Autumn color on top.

See how she glows in the yellow, while still reaping the benefits of sexy black? That’s how you do it if you’re a Spring or an Autumn. Note also that her earrings have cool-toned green but are warmed up by the gold. Perfect!

If you have already had a color consultation with me, I will feature your Color Snapshots whenever you want as well as answer any specific questions you have!

Summer 2011

Today is the first official day of summer in the US. White is definitely summer’s all-star color (or lack of color, or all colors combined, whatever). Summer and Winter women shine in white; particularly Summer women (makes sense). I hit up Google Images and snatched up the first 10 women I saw in white:

4 out of these 10 ladies have cool skin undertones and thus, look good in white. Can you pick them out?

Anyhoo, as far as summer fashion is concerned, if you are a Summer or a Winter, you can wear whatever the hell you want in white and stunt. For the rest of us, try a cream or an ivory to get that same feel but warmer. If you insist on white, stick to cardigans, shorts/skirts with a warmer color top, and accessories.

In the home, bring white in your bedding, bath towels, curtains, and even cut/potted flowers and get breezy on hoes.

Summer special events are also a nice way to bring in white for decor (especially if it’s not too hot to host something outside).

Enjoy your summer!

Autumn Gray Done Correctly

QQ, an Autumn, wrote in and inquired if the shade of gray she was wearing worked:

Wholeheartedly, yas! Gray often comes across quite cool but the deep charcoals of the gray spectrum can give off just the right amount of warmth an Autumn needs. Pair deep, dark, grays with gold jewelry for maximum impact.

Winters can do a steelier, almost blue-gray. Summers can do the lighter grays, while Springs do best with a light to medium beige-gray. Seeing each gray out of context can make it difficult to tell what season it would work best for, but if you compare grays to each other, you’ll begin to see the differences.
